“M”:
The letter “M” stands for Mary, who was chosen by God to become the mother of Jesus. As a mother, she brought up Jesus with much love and care, being creatively faithful to her vocation as a mother, accompanying Jesus up to the Cross. From the Cross, Jesus made her, the mother of all his followers. Now she is our mother, our intercessor with Jesus and also the Queen of Heaven.
The 12 stars:
Above the letter “M” represent the 12 Apostles who were accompanied and formed by Jesus. Their way of life and their teachings can make our lives flourish. As the apostles were fed by the 12 fruits of the Holy Spirit, we will be opened to the gifts of the Holy Spirit in serving one another.
The Sacred Heart:
Pierced with a lance represents the heart of Jesus, burning with love, that made Jesus lay down His life for the redemption / liberation of human beings. This heart of Jesus invites us to live in the spirit of sacrificial love for others’ growth and enhancement in our college and in our families.
Open Book and the Sun:
The open book represents wisdom which is enlightened by the rays of the sun, which is the source of life and light.
Servire in Amore: (To serve with love):
The Motto of the school is to serve with love and bring harmony to the society through holistic formation. The Oblates dedicated to the ministry of education / teaching consider service as the inseparable twin of love. Therefore, they will dedicate themselves to lead the children, the youth and their parents living in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka to act with dignity as human beings, loving and respecting one another, thereby maintaining also equality among them. Since the students belonging to the major Religious Faiths will also be beneficiaries of the services rendered at our Mazenod College, the Oblate educators / teachers will also try to enable them to embody in the lives the values and virtues of the Founders of their Religions.

Rice represents our daily nourishment. May our College be a source of nourishment for the flourishing of life of the students and their families.
