Annual Sports meet 2025

The Annual Sports Meet of Mazenod College was held on 6th September 2025 at the College Grounds, Shrawashipura. The occasion was graced by Rev. Fr. Sampath Perera OMI, Parish Priest of Kokilai, and Mr. H. M. C. Jayaweera, Director of School Affairs, Anuradhapura.
We were further blessed by the presence of Ven. Rathanasiri Thero, Chief Incumbent of Nagaviharaya, Shrawashipura, and Ven. Batagolle Pangnananda Thero, Assistant at Jayanthi Temple, Anuradhapura, and teacher at President’s College.
Among the distinguished guests were Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Fernando OMI, Superior of Oblate Rajabima Centre, Rev. Sr. Mala, Superior of Holy Family Convent, and Rev. Sr. Chamila of Providence Convent, Anuradhapura.
Our parents worked tirelessly, day and night, to prepare the houses. Their creativity shone through:
- Michael House presented a magnificent ship and emerged as champions in both the Creative House Competition and the Sports Meet.
- Bonjean House showcased an impressive aeroplane.
- Henry House designed a colourful train.
- Michael House also displayed a striking bus.
The children displayed their talents with great enthusiasm, bringing joy and pride to their parents and teachers. The Sports Meet concluded on a high note, leaving everyone with cherished memories of unity, creativity, and sporting spirit.
